Membership is open to: Advocates registered with the Nepal Bar Council under the age limit set by the Association.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP, APPLICANTS MUST:
- Be a licensed lawyer enrolled with the Nepal Bar Council.
- Be under 40 years of age as of the date of application.
- Be actively engaged in legal practice or academic legal work in Nepal.
- Submit a complete application form along with supporting documents as required.
- Have no disciplinary record with the Nepal Bar Council.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP, APPLICANTS MUST:
- Law graduates and trainees preparing for the Bar Examination (associate membership).
Selection Process
The selection process will follow these steps:
- Application Screening: The Secretariat will review all applications for completeness and eligibility.
- Shortlisting:
Eligible applications will be reviewed by the YLA Selection Committee for shortlisting based on motivation, contributions to the legal community, and gender balance (one man and one woman per province). - Interview (if required):
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a brief interview or discussion with the Selection Committee.
- Final Selection:
The Selection Committee will select one male and one female member from each province and formally announce the selected members.
- Membership Fee Payment:
Selected members must pay the applicable membership fee (as determined by the Association) to complete the enrollment process.
- Confirmation:
Upon receipt of the membership fee, the Secretariat will issue an official confirmation of membership and provide orientation materials to the new members. - Notification:
All applicants will be notified of the outcome by email.
